The CSX Railroad is planning to close 8th Avenue SE from October 2-6. During this time, Central Park Drive will be shut at the point where it meets Lake Alison Drive.

On Monday, September 18, 2023, the Largo City Commission formally adopted an annual operating budget and property tax rate, maintaining the current tax rate at $5.5200 per $1,000 of assessed value.

Planning for the Southwest Pool renovations continues as Team Members work to balance the facility's needs with the current budget. The project is currently in the design phase and renovations are planned to include resurfacing, repairs to the dive tower, and more. It is currently anticipated construction will begin in early 2024

Construction for the Gladys Street improvement project will be underway in a few weeks. Residents and roadway users should be prepared for road closures starting as early as Sunday, July 23. The project site includes Gladys Street from the intersection at Dryer Avenue to the intersection at Wilcox Road.

Largo City Commission, City Leadership, and the Horizon Project Team joined the project architect, ASD│SKY and Biltmore Construction in Downtown Largo for an official groundbreaking ceremony of Horizon West Bay in Fall 2022. Mayor Woody Brown and City Manager Henry Schubert welcomed guests and talked about Horizon as a true investment in a Downtown vision.
