Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing:
Equal change outs or the replacement of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing like for like/size for size are typically done over the counter and require no plan for review. However, any new install of Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing do have requirements and plans or supporting documents may be required.
Roof:
A re-roofing permit requires a completed application, a product approval form listing each product being used on the roof ( 2020 & Approved) , examples being underlayment and shingles, and one (1) set of Florida Product Approvals and installation instructions to be provided on site.
The Roofing Affidavit will need to be posted on site for Final Inspection or turned in to the Building Division prior to Final. Please note the affidavit must be original and notarized.
Window/Door:
A window/door replacement permit includes permits for exterior doors, windows, sliding glass doors, solatubes, skylights and garage doors. A window/door permit requires a completed application, a layout of the location showing which windows/doors are being replaced and two (2) sets of Florida Product Approvals (2020 & Approved) for each window product being used, along with one (1) set of installation instructions provided on site.
Fences:
A fence permit requires a completed application, two (2) sets for residential of a survey or site plan showing where on the property the fence is being placed (three (3) sets for commercial), even if you are removing and replacing the fence in the exact same place it once was. We need to know how tall the fence will be and what type of fencing material will be used, along with an approximate length in feet of fencing.

Trees:
A tree permit requires a completed tree removal application, which includes showing where the tree to be removed is located on the property and what type of tree it is.
The inspector must have access to the entire property, and gates must be left open for the inspector to complete the review.
If required, tree replacement information can be found in Chapter 10 of the Comprehensive Development Code for residential and commercial properties.

Sheds:
All sheds require a permit in the City of Largo.
Sheds 250 sq ft or less do not require a contractor to construct.
Sheds less than 100 sq ft require: a completed permit application, two (2) sets of a survey or site plan showing where on the property the shed will be placed, two (2) sets of plans showing how the shed will be built, and two (2) sets of Florida Product Approvals (2017 & Approved) for each product being used (ex: roofing/windows/doors/etc), along with one (1) set of installation instructions provided on site.
Sheds 100 sq ft or greater: a completed permit application, two (2) sets of a survey or site plan showing where on the property the shed will be placed, two (2) sets of signed and sealed plans showing how the shed will be built, and 2 sets of Florida Product Approvals (2017 & Approved) for each product being used (ex: roofing/windows/doors/etc), along with one (1) set of installation instructions provided on site.
Please note if a shed is being placed on a commercial property three (3) sets of a survey or site plan and three (3) sets of plans are required.
Driveways:
A driveway permit is for a residential property only. It requires a completed application, along with two (2) sets of a survey or site plan showing where the driveway will be placed or repair will be done, along with dimensions. Additionally a description should be included to state what the driveway will be constructed of.
Carports/Screen Rooms:
A carport permit requires a completed application, along with two (2) sets of a survey or site plan showing where the carport will be placed, along with two (2) sets of signed and sealed plans showing how the carport will be constructed, along with two (2) sets of Florida Product Approvals (2020 & Approved) for each product being used (ex: roofing), and one (1) set of installation instructions provided on site.
Please note if a carport is being placed on a commercial property three (3) sets of a survey or site plan and three (3) sets of plans are required.
Pool/Spa:
A pool/spa permit requires a completed application, along with two (2) sets of a survey or site plan showing where the pool/spa will be placed, two (2) sets of plans showing how the pool/spa will be constructed, a letter of No Conflict from Duke Energy, signed Residential Pool/Spa Safety Act Affidavit and any specifications for any motors or pumps associated with the pool/spa.
Please note if a pool is being placed on a commercial property, three (3) sets of a survey or site plan, three (3) sets of plans and the FL Dept of Health Public Pool Permit Application must be included.
Demolition:
A demolition permit is used for the demolition/removal of any structure (building, sign, mobile home removal, shed, pool, etc.). A demolition permit requires a completed application, along with two (2) sets of a survey or site plan showing where the structure to be removed is located on the property. If utilities are involved with the structure then a letter of disconnect from each utility provider is required (including Duke Energy, Clearwater Gas, etc.). All demolition occurring within a Mobile Home Park require a Mobile Home Park Authorization Letter from the Park for review.
Please note if a demolition is being done on a commercial property, three (3) sets of a survey or site plans are required.
Remodel:
Interior remodel – two (2) sets of plans showing the scope of work and how remodel will be done, to include a floor plan showing where the scope of work will be occurring, and two (2) sets of Florida Product Approvals (2020 & Approved) for each product being used (ex: roofing/windows/doors/etc), along with one (1) set of installation instructions provided on site.
Exterior remodel - two (2) sets of survey or site plan showing where on the property the remodel will occur, two (2) sets of plans showing the scope of work and how remodel will be done, and two (2) sets of Florida Product Approvals (2020 & Approved) for each product being used (ex: roofing/windows/doors/etc), along with one (1) set of installation instructions provided on site.
Please note if a remodel is occurring on a commercial property three (3) sets of surveys or site plans, floor plans, and three (3) sets of plans are required.
